DEATH BED Spooky Poem  By k.e.Owen

DEATH BED

Moving swiftly
O'er the trees
The midnight dove
Comes back to me.
To share it's love
With all around
'fore wounded wing
falls dead on ground.
A love that saw
All worldly sights
The good, the bad
Both day and night.
And to come back
Just one more time
To share that love
'twas never mine.
But here the dove
Bids all farewell
Before he's plunged
To midnght's hell
And covered up
With dusty land
As he has before
And after - man.

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life. To put to rout all that was not life. And not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived".
